Well, after a long wait, Miss Lizzy’s finally launched with her official website launch on Wednesday 7th October, followed by her public debut at Rozelle Markets on Saturday 10th October. It has been a wonderful experience in launching Miss Lizzy’s, the supportive comments received from friends and family. The website needed some and still needs some modifications, but we are new to this, and as time progresses I will learn more and the site will look much better, but I couldn’t wait any longer, I wanted to launch and share Miss Lizzy’s will all of you.
Rozelle markets went well and for my first market ever I was surprised at the well wishes from the general public. Also, I simply love Rozelle market, it is unfortunately not an art and craft market, which is what will suit Miss Lizzy’s better. So I will be on the hunt for a suitable market to display and present our collections.
I do wish to share with you some stories of my encounters at Rozelle markets. One young gentleman was asking what I would use our personal cases for, so I was explaining what females would use it for and I mentioned the word tampons, well a 78 year old (or there abouts) was in ear shot and came over to me whispering behind her hands, ‘did you just say tampons to that man?’, and I said yes, I was speaking freely. She explained that in her day you didn’t discuss those things and when she was young it was all very secretive. Then she started browsing our collection and she moved herself up the table to the lingerie and asked if I had any french knickers, to which I said unfortunately I don’t. She then launched into a big display about how extravagant french knickers were as they used so much material and were cut on the bias. She used lovely hand movements to explain her french knickers and she went on and on about these beautiful creations describing every detail in the patterns and fabrics. As the conversation progressed, she was more at ease at speaking freely, and if it wasn’t for my table becoming increasingly busy and required my attention to be given to others, I would had loved to have heard her stories about her final comments to me regarding what she and others in her time got up to on sheep skin rrrrrrugs. rrrrrrrhhhggggg!@!! Oh, how I wished I asked you for your name, but if by chance you do read this blog, thank you for sharing your stories with me and for the sparkle in your eyes as you told them.
I do encourage all stories like this to be told, you are silenced no more, write to Miss Lizzy and let us know your cheeky ones.
Two other customers also asked if I stocked XS or bra’s for the smaller bust (eg. A), I said I was hoping to in the future, but at present, I didn’t have any stock. So to all of you smaller petite women out there, stay tuned, I will endeavour to provide these fits for you.
The day was polished off with a bottle of champagne (which was completely inhaled), and some pizza to celebrate Miss Lizzy’s debut. Sorry to those at home, no home cooked dinner that night, the markets shattered me completely, and was in bed by 7.30pm daylight saving time.
I promise to add some pictures to my blog of the markets soon.
Thank you to all those that browsed my web, gave supportive comments, and visited me Rozelle markets. And finally to my wonderful customers, thank you for your patronage.
